Have you ever tried adding an app into #MicrosoftTeams and getting blocked by the IT admin?⛔ Even when you are building #PowerApps right within Teams itself, using the Dataverse for Teams environments, you may fail to make that application visible to end users. If the tenant settings block uploading of custom apps, the route for "Add to Teams" from the Power Apps Maker experience can lead to a dead end. I think many organizations might not yet be aware of all the ways in which Teams could be used as an app platform in a secure and governable way. Granted, there's a lot to improve in the Dataverse for Teams governance story, too, but it's still much better than having shadow IT apps from random SaaS clouds. One aspect with Teams & apps that has been nearly unusable is the way how users could request approval from IT via the Team app store to get an app approved. The built-in experience in Teams Admin Center is very underwhelming, meaning no one will likely see the user's request. This coming feature (announced in #Microsoft365 message center MC411463) will allow routing those app requests to a place that IT actually is monitoring. Both the URL as well as the instructions text can be customized, making it a lot easier for business users and IT to communicate on the app needs and opportunities of Microsoft Teams. Rolling out in August, available by mid-September. Configurable in Teams Admin Center under org-wide app settings once it's live.

Jukka Niiranen "𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 𝘐𝘛 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘚𝘢𝘢𝘚 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘥𝘴" OR but it's still much better than having parallel IT apps from carefully selected SaaS clouds AKA "do not underestimate people's will of getting things done". 😏 Furthermore, I would underline that if the general approach and service model of an (understaffed) IT department is "Disable! Deny! Delete!", it's unlikely that a new configurable feature will be actually configured in the Admin center. Old and same story.
